The Build of The Rock Getaway

Every part of this cabin has a story behind it. From milling our own wood for the frame and siding to putting up the walls by hand, it’s been built with a lot of time, patience, and heart.

Right now, the walls are up, insulation’s in, and the wood stove is installed to keep it cozy. We’re working on milling and installing the wall boards next — slow and steady, the way it should be done.

We’re planning to open for bookings in Spring or Summer 2026, and I’ll keep posting photo updates as we go. Depending on how much snow we get this winter, we might take a short break — but that’s just life up here in the north.

Every step brings us closer to welcoming guests to this off-grid place we’ve poured so much into. It’s not just a cabin — it’s a piece of who we are, built board by board.
